Said I was illiterate and made me go to classes or else I would get discipline R and Rs called a 115 in. I could get more time if I didn’t go.

Back to RJD, when I got out of the hospital, they put me for a EOP yard.

Oh yeah, back to SATF Corcoran. It took three almost four years to get my ID straightened out and I had to do it myself.

They could not help me. Anyways back at RJD Donovan when they put me on the EOP yard. It’s a medical yard. I yelled at an officer because officers were calling me, I don’t know them. I’d be the first one to laugh if I thought something was funny.

Heh this is prison and not to minimize something, but I just committed is what they call arson of an inhabited structure, a 451 violation. At the county jail where I was at I yelled at some officer because they were bumping my legs against the walls in my wheelchair, and they pulled me off of my wheelchair.

And because I have a struggle, they took my wheelchair away from me and I had to crawl on the ground. And if I didn’t make it to the door, I wouldn’t get food or clean clothing.

Talk about abuse and neglect and no one, I mean no one would do anything about it.

I’ve been denied my education, religion, Christmas special meals. They only have Kosher and Muslim. Oh! They have Christmas meal and Thanksgiving but that’s it, no jubilee etc.

And the protestors burnt down Kobe Bryant’s and families’ catholic church. And soon you know the famous basketball player that him and his daughter got killed from a helicopter crash, sad.

My CC one Corcoran falsified my SSI number. And transferred it to the Santa Maria Parole Office and not only is it not time to do that. It’s not his job description. Two doctors falsified prescriptions here. Help.

Dear PrisonPandemic,

These people think they’re immune from prosecution for murder. I got my head bashed in for questioning a doctor at SATF Corcoran State Prison by a program office worker. And after I was already having problems with my celly. Serious problems and they couldn’t move me or him. I am a cripple with a heart condition.

I tried to prosecute and they just grabbed me up and sent me to another prison RJD Donovan, San Diego.

When I was already endorsed at SATF Corcoran, SATF is not a substance abuse treatment facility. When I first got to RJD, they failed to transfer my heart medication and I ended up at the Chula Vista Emergency Hospital. First of all, when I was brought to WASCO, a reception center, in my wheelchair, I did not know what to expect, first termer.

Never been in prison before. Never been on parole/probation or even hooked with mental health before. Without reading my rights they put me in the MHDS, Mental Health Delivery System. And made me 1.3 grade average for not taking a test that’s a reading level of less than a fourth grader.

Does this letter look like that? Then when I got to SATF Corcoran they put me in a class.

Said I was illiterate and made me go to classes or else I would get discipline R and Rs called a 115 in. I could get more time if I didn’t go.

Greetings PrisonPandemic,

I hope this letter finds you well, especially given everything going on in the world right now with COVID-19. Thank you for your small note that is undated to me, however post dated March 2021.

Now to answer your questions, it was over 300 prisoners here at CHCF who had the COVID-19, with only 15 deaths. However, many CHCF staff members had COVID-19 and many died. Cannot give you the number of staff who died. Now big problem here at CHCF, CDCR medical officials do not give the prisoners a new mask to wear every week.

Sometimes the prisoners may get a new mask to wear after 30 days, etc.

However, I must say that myself and all the prisoners in facility, we are the only unit who has not got COVID-19 out of 3000 prisoners. All I can say is the doctor in is doing something right. Even if we as prisoners are not given a new mask to wear everyday.

However, I do want you to know that all the staff here at CHCF is given a new mask everyday to wear. Also please note the food that the prisoners are given to eat here is real bad and overcooked, etc. The clothes the prisoners are given are not clean, etc. Just real bad. Please let me know if you want more information about CHCF.

However, I will say that I was safe so far when it comes to COVID-19. Thank you for writing to me and I will look forward to hear from you.

So I will close for now. I do thank you very much. I will be writing more soon. Take care and be safe with goodness.

Sincerely unity and respect always, from comrade.

Dear PrisonPandemic,

May the love, peace, safety and all spiritual blessings from the heavenly places in Christ Jesus be upon you and everyone at Irvine University. I had to wait until I had stamps and envelopes to write so please excuse the delay. I’m fine and I’m in perfect health, although I’m a little overweight. But I’m glad to hear that you and others think about us who are in prison.

Having a sentence of life without parole is a sentence of death but thanks be to Jesus and the fact that I’m not the shooter in my crime, he moved people to assert a new law that would allow me to be re-sentenced. Jesus told me in a dream that he would give me one last chance and re-sentencing is the fulfillment, praise Jesus.

Around January of 2020 this “Healthcare Prison” started experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic. I cannot be certain exactly how many has died but it has been young and old that has died. The last death because of the COVID-19 pandemic disease was an older person over 70 years old.

We have been on quarantine since April 2020. There is no visiting for anyone, limited yard schedules where there is no interacting with other dorms. It is mandatory for all inmates to wear masks and stay six feet apart at all times! Every COVID test I’ve taken has been negative and I thank Jesus for encamping his holy angels around me, keeping me safe!

Jesus made a way because of my hardness of heart in 1994 to come to prison. In these 26 years he’s allowed me to be born again and filled with the holy spirit! This is my wake-up call to walk with the holy spirit.

In Matthew 21:22, Jesus says “whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive”; also in John 14:13-14, “whatever you ask for in Jesus’ name, you receive!” Remember these verse when you pray or ask, his word is your seed, your faith is the key, so never doubt. I hope to meet you when I’m out, write me anytime! Praise Jesus!

This letter was written by a person incarcerated at Stockton.

On January of 2020 I remember watching the news on tv and hearing about something called COVID-19. Watching what the Chinese people were going through and saying to myself, “man I wonder how long before it gets to the US.” On February 2020 I heard of a boat that had docked somewhere in San Francisco and the captain and staff were not aware of people on the boat being sick with COVID-19.

Around March 2020 we got the news that the prison is getting on quarantine. Now I’m in my bunk were I sleep saying to myself “it’s here.” All of a sudden the little time we had to go outside was no more.

By May 2020 I’m watching the news, how people were dying and getting sick, what the symptoms were but no one really new. This whole time correctional officers were not wearing masks, not gloves so I’m thinking this will pass over.

On June 2020 a lot of people got sick and thought it was the flu. I felt weak, my body ached, but the one thing that scared me was that I could not breath.

Now thinking, “man do I got COVID-19?” But no one really knew because there were no COVID tests.

Before entering the hospital, they put me in a full hazmat suit. Thinking to myself “why are they putting all this on me?” So I ask, but before I could, I am passing through about 10 doors and just seeing people in plastic tubes. I asked “who are those people?” to the nurse, and she replied “they’re all inmates from San Quentin and they’re dying.” I looked at her with a serious look.

I get to my room where there is a doctor. I get IV antibiotics stayed for one hour, and then I headed back. So now I’m on my way back, thinking how the next level quarantine is. So basically they put you in a room for two weeks with no one to talk to. No books, no sounds. Thinking to myself “wow it could get worse.”

December 2020, I started getting symptoms of COVID-19 again. People started getting sick but this time there were COVID-19 tests. We all took them and came back positive. It was really bad this time because my taste left and I felt really sick. And when we told the medical staff how we felt they said “drink lots of water and you’ll be okay.”

Inmates were going man down. This one guy went down and all they did was check his temp and said you’re okay. Five minutes after, I tell him “he’s okay,” he replied “I don’t think I’m gonna make it.” I’m thinking “okay maybe he’s just overthinking it”.

Well a week later he passed away and all I could think is he had only eight months left to go home.
